I still can't tell if this thread was serious or not.

Just stating something that I have came across from experience, if you go around flauntig that you have money more often then not you don't. Especially on here. No one gives a smurf if you have money or if you are dirt poor.

What is so tacky or trashy about them? Not everyone wants a large, expensive wedding.

How appalling that people actually serve non organic food at their weddings. I bet they served finger foods too. Shows how much they actually care for their guests and the impression they give off.

Idk if this is real or fake but anyways i had a courthouse wedding, we wanted to get married before i went into BMT and we only had like a month and half till then. Also we didn't have a whole bunch of family or friends so there was no point in having a big wedding, his Mom, sister and brother were there and my Bff was there it was really sweet. However i have always dreamed of having a big wedding so DH and i decided for our 10 year anniversary that we will renew our vows and have a wedding type ceremony with all of our family and friends there.

We had a potluck.   I was mortified. Instead of thank you notes, I almost sent "I'm sorry" notes.

Here we do like huge dinners and I went to my cousin's wedding in Mississippi and they did all finger foods. I didn't know people actually did that. I thought after a wedding everybody did huge dinners and then had lots of alcohol. At my cousin's though they ran out of beer and we had to go down to the gas station to get more. 0__0

I had a courthouse wedding, LOL. We were on vacation in Florida, spending a few days in Orlando after we got back from a cruise. Got married that morning and hit universal studios that afternoon. We aren't poor, it wasn't meaningless, I wasn't pregnant but it was pretty tacky. We didn't dress up or anything, our wedding photo is horrible, lmao. I was wearing a black sweat suit and a tie-dyed tank top and he was wearing a tee shirt and jeans. Whatever, LOL, I own it. My name is Jessica and I had a super tacky wedding.

And the extravagance of the wedding doesn't signify the strength of the couple's relationship or the likelihood that they'll stay together. DH and I eloped on the beach. I paid 50 dollars for the dress and 100 dollars for the service of the JOP. Me and DH will be celebrating our 6th anniversary this October.
I went to a wedding last year that was over the top expensive. The couple divorced a few months afterwards, because the bride was having an affair and was pregnant with the other man's baby.

I really want to get married at a cheesy Las Vegas chapel with an Elvis Impersonator.
