No, i don't agree with either of those.

We were going to just run away and elope but theenn the family kinda pushed a little and we decided on a big wedding (which is something i've always wanted). By the time of the wedding we will have been dating for over 8 years. I can't wait to marry him and have a big party with all of our closest friends and family to celebrate all that we have been through and all their support.

Whatever the couple wants they should have. It's their day.

well....the first time I got married, it was at a court house and kind of on a whim....we were only together for a few months at the time. (and only lasted about a year).
the second time, I wanted to have a real wedding so I did. Honestly though, by the time my wedding day came, I was just wishing for another court house wedding bc it was such a headache!

This!!! some of the poorest people I know have had a huge wedding......I keep thinking of all the awesome things that money could have been spent on.

here a court house wedding is for people who are getting married again with out getting divorced

Courthouse weddings are tacky and meaningless. If you're not willing to get married in a nice ceremony in a church then you don't love each other enough to make it last.

Seriously though, I don't think anything different about courthouse weddings, except maybe that you found the expense of a big ceremony a waste, or you wanted to share the exchanging of vows in private.

I'll never be married in church. Smurf that nonsense but if I do get married I want it to be here http://www.lempmansion.com/banquets.htm but it would be wayyy too expensive.

I think they can be tacky... but drive thru weddings are worse.
