carseat placement

We only have one child for now and he is forward facing. He's been on the side because we couldn't get it to stay tight in the middle. So where is the safest place for him to be now that he has a new carseat that installs tight in all the possible places?

Ideally, middle is best.

Middle is best then I believe second is behind the driver

It's puts them farthest away from an impact zone.
