Anywhere but the boat. Send them home would probably be the best solution.

Transfer them to a new boat and continue wherever they were going. If a school bus breaks down, they put the kids on a new bus and keep going.
They sent the boat out knowing it was malfunctioning, that in itself is a huge issue.

As if people would want to take a cruise after this ordeal. The vouchers would be usless IMO.
My parents want to take us on a week Disney cruise next spring & I kindly turned them down. DH and I do not want to cruise.

How would they have gotten them off the boat safely? It's not like they could have pulled up another ship next to it. They had no real stabilizers the ship was moving in the waves. Would you have wanted to "walk the plank" from one ship to another one?

If it got me off a floating toilet, yes. Besides which that's a ridiculous reason. You're going to sit there and expect people to believe there is no way to evacuate people safely from a boat adrift on the ocean? It was their engine and electrical system among other things that failed, they should still have an anchor.

Is everyone forgetting cruises go on water? They don't have another boat following them and they don't have choppers and smurf to take the passengers home in a case like this. ALL they could do was sit and wait for another boat to get them. Inconveniently that took five days.

How can you compare a broke down school bus, where kids can get off. Sit on the concrete, if there's a story rear by they can WALK with an adult and buy themselves some refreshments etc.

All the passengers could do was one: sit & wait or two: jump in the damn water so they could cool off, piss and smurf as much as they wanted to.

I have cruised several times and when they cant dock there are ferry boats you get on. They could have got them to another ship.
