It would have cost them millions more to do that than to just refund the customers. Which is BS! Those people were living in filth, so wrong.

No. Now a days, everyone sues for the silliest little things. Those people should be glad that the boat just stopped running & didn't sink to the bottom of the ocean.

They should have took the loss. Youd rather save money than have people living in those conditions. What if there were babies on board. Wait...were there babies or kids on board?

Being forced to sit around in human waste and choose between spoiled food or no food are silly little things?

I would only sue if I was injured, as the person filing the suit was.

As for evacuating people, they did with a couple. In ones interview she said that it was very scary. She was afraid they were going to drop her.

The coast gaurd dropped supplies on board. Yes it wasn't pleasant, but it could have been much worse.

love how people always say "Well it could have been worse" I am sorry, but they were describing the conditions as being similar to Katrina. Well I lived through Katrina and they can "drop supplies" all they want NO ONE should have to deal with living any amount of time in those conditions. You sit around in human feces and filth for a few days with little to no food or water, no bath, no every day luxuries, nothing after YOU PAID to go where you are and enjoy yourself then tell me "Hey, it could be worse"

I think Carnival owes these people A LOT!

What the hell were the owners supposed to do, "Okay everybody lets jump into the water and start fishing. Wait there till the they boat arrives?"

That is the price ANY company pays though. When your product or business fails and puts lives in danger or even discomfort you are responsible. No one is saying they should have told them to jump in the water, but they should have had a better game plan. I find it ridiculous that it took so long to get those people on to shore.

I'm generally not super sue happy (inside my head lol), but in this case, yes.

I would want a refund, money to replace the articles I lost, money to replace the wages I lost assuming I couldn't get more (paid) vacation days, any medical issues I would want paid for by the cruise company and

Why the SmUrf didn't they fly in formula for babies?! Holy smurf, if that's true, and I was one of those parents HELL YES I would sue.

I am not so sure on the formula thing. They were on a 4 day cruise & if ANY baby had to go a day & half without formula, I kinda wonder what the parents packed??? WTF? Seriously - I don't FFd, but my kids have butts & need dipes, and when we go places, I pack LOTS of extra, because that is not something you ever risk running short on - same can be said for what your baby eats.

Overall though - I would sue IF what I was offered was pitiful. It would totally depend on what was offered as compensation.

No, but there was absolutely no reason they couldn't have immediately dispatched another form of transportation to get the passengers off. Instead, they let them sit in deplorable conditions for almost 5 days, which was longer than the entire cruise itself was supposed to take. Plenty of time to get the passengers and crew off the boat.
