I really just want to move far far away from my hometown...I just want something new! I LOVED New York....I'm kind of considering moving up there....would you take everything you had...? when do you think the best time to go? how much money should you have saved up?

i did when i was 19, came home when i was 21 because my mom had surgery, packed up and moved back there again when i was 21 and pregnant, and regretted it the 2nd time around and missed home too much

New York state or city? Its expensive state to live in, and I cant wait to get out.

I moved my family spur of the moment. We got a smallish U-haul loaded it with necessities, had 5000 in savings and drove to a city I loved, found a perfect house and luckily moved in in 2 days. Took DH and I about a month to find jobs. It was reckless and we are so lucky everything just fell into place the way it did...but I never once have regretted it.

nyc is expensive. i pay 2100 a month for a small 3 bedroom.

thats a nice area. pretty cheap too.. an apartment there cost like 600-700 a month

A guy told my baby's father that he owns an apartment building starting at $400 a month... Not sure if that's in a bad part of the city or not

Yes I would assume so. I live very close to that area, and its literally starting at $700 for a 1-2 bedroom in a decent area.

I use to live in Sherburne it was way to small!!
