I caught him red handed

posted 15th Feb
Yesterday.

Standing in the middle of the room.

By himself...

Holding a broom.

Like he was going to sweep.

And he still won't walk. He then very carefully sat down.

Oh my gosh I swear it's never going to end, he's 14 months this month and still not walking!

Dh caught him too. We just about busted up laughing!

It's pretty normal for most kids to walk at about 15-16 months.

It just is so frustrating seeing him there holding a broom, almost pretending to sweep, and then he slowly sits down, and he won't even take a step!

My first walked at 11 months, my second at 15 months. So I know it's almost there.

My #2 did not walk until 17 months! He would stand up and cruise. Or walk holding onto anything. Kids are silly and walk in thier own time.

Maybe he secretly walks when no one is looking?   Your child is a ninja!

Sophie would crawl to the center of a room, stand up on her own, look around, and sit back down  .

At 14 months to the day, she stood up from my lap and walked four steady steps to my coffee table.

It's like she was practicing in her crib at night  .

lol sneaky baby....Mine wouldnt walk or crawl or anything for me even when food was put out but go around the corner and spy we eventually caught him doing it all and would surprise him mid action but try not to make a big deal out of it so he would start doing it more often it ended up working well for us LO just likes modest attention no super claps or yelling or nothing he just likes to be acknowledged the pedi thinks its weird cause all his five kids are attention whores of course both parents are pedis and work full time

I wonder. I catch him all the time too. He's standing solo in the pantry, throwing cans of canned food. He stands solo and EATS OATMEAL! When I feed him breakfast.

but one step? apparently that's a life and death decision he just can't make right now.

That's pretty much it. It's so frustrating. How can you not take a step but stand solo with a large kitchen broom in your hand? It makes NO sense! At least not to me.

I caught him yesterday walking from his chair to the bench at the table. Of course it was only 2 steps, but he still did it.

Put hidden cameras around the house ala Paranormal Activity and see if you can catch him going for jogs around the house at 3 in the morning.
