Is This A Lot To Get Married??

I'm trying to find a judge to marry us next week and they're almost all closed on Fridays, the only one I've been able to contact is asking for $150 for a 10 minute ceremony. Which is fine, I want it quick, but $150 seems really steep for something so simple and short. Is this a lot of money for that or is it normal?

That is reasonable.

Sounds about right for a courthouse wedding.

That's ridiculous & way too expensive. Could you find an ordain minister in your are that could be cheaper?

Eta: I live in Vegas and it snot even close to that expensive here lol.

My husband has done about a dozen wedding ceremonies. One was done in our living room. He is a pastor and has never charged anyone. I don't know what a courthouse would charge but $150 is probably about right.

We tried calling the church we pay our tithe to, but we don't actually attend the church, so I'm hoping they'll do it but nobody is answering so I sent them an email and hoping to hear back. We're sort of in a rush to set it up today because we have our honeymoon all set up for next weekend. It's last minute but we just got our marriage license today lol. So I want to make sure we are going to be married by that time!

Could you do it Thursday when more places are open instead?

We got a list of judges when we got our marriage license. We paid $45 bucks.

Yes, we want to do it Tuesday or Thursday afternoon but no later than Thursday because that's when we are leaving for honeymoon. I just wanted to set it up today because I know judges get busy and might not have time if I wait for Monday to ask

Its abou the right price, thats how much we payed.

Oh okay. I misread, sorry.

But I think 150 is a tad expensive for such a short amount of time!

That's about what I expected it to be, so when they said $150 I was like "Whoooa" We got a list of judges also but that's the only one that was open so I was wondering if that was standard or if it's a rip off because if it was standard I'd go ahead and set it up knowing it's probably not cheaper anywhere else.
After all the responses so far, I'll hold out until Monday to call all the other judges if the church we're trying to contact won't do it.

I paid 100 cash for like a 10- 15 mins.

Thank you ladies!! I am just going to keep trying to contact the church and if that doesn't work out I'll call the other judges Monday and pray that they are cheaper and are available next week!
