Now that I think about it. I think if you got married on the weekend the tripled the price!

Some churches will do it for "free" as long as you do like marriage counseling with them and are a member. Sometimes you just have to pay for janitorial cleanup. or for the pianist or whatever.

But it's reasonable for a justice of the peace. My grandmother does weddings and she charges 100 at least. We paid for her breakfast when she did ours, we couldn't afford 100.

Yeh I think we paid less than $50 for a courthouse thing before. I would definitely just look up an ordained person on craigslist for teh cheaps lol

I'm a Notary Public in the State of Florida and can legally marry people here. I charge $20, we're not allowed to charge more than what the Clerk of Courts office would charge, which is $20. $150 is CRAZY!

Church's are more. Ours charged us 500$ and we are members. Most will want at least 200$. And I don't think 150$ is a bad price.

Oh wow. My first wedding was in a church, and they charged us to pay the pianist, we didn't have to pay the pastor, and we got by without paying janitorial fees because my mom was the janitor.

So it was about 50 or so.

That's awesome! I didn't find anything that cheap, but I'm sure there are places.

That was in Portland.

We opted for my grandma to do the second one because the husband didn't want to go to the courthouse for his wedding. So yeah, we paid her money to get her breakfast since she had to drive in from out of town.

We got married in my "church" this week and it was free but I'm Buddhist so we probably do things way differently lol

I was married in a church for $100. That was 8 years ago.

I've never used craigslist before, I'm on it now though. How would I look it up?

Nvm I figured it out! Lol thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to do my homework and see what I can work out

Hubby and I paid 5 dollars. because we had marriage counseling.. but otherwise it would have been 50 dollars

we got married out of state. (got married on the beach   ) we paid the minister $250 to marry us. He was on time and did everything just the way I wanted, so it was worth every penny.
