9 month old and chest infection

My 9 month old has a bad chest infection, I brought her to the doc yesterday and she put her on Augmentin which she's had before for an ear infection. It's a 7 day course so I know we won't see any improvement for a few days. She's coughing so hard she's vomiting + getting frightened, also she's exhausted + won't eat or drink much. I've been sitting in a steamed up bathroom with her for 15-20 minutes at a time, have a plug in vaporiser + I have her cot mattress elevated so she can breathe easier at night. All these the doc told me to do. Is there anything else I can try to help her? I hate seeing her so sick, she just had Croupe 2 weeks ago though that went away after 5 days. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
