PLEASE HELP!

posted 15th Feb
My 3 year old son is constipated. He has problems and has since he was weaned from breastfeeding at 10 months. His belly is really big. I can't tell if it's normal or if it's real bloating. He hasn't pooped in about 4 days and keeps trying, but can't. I can't do a suppository because his poop is literally right there and the suppository just falls back out. He can't push the poop out even though it's so close. He also has barely eaten anything for a few days. Yesterday he had a half a bagel and some grapes. Today he ate string cheese. I'm giving him high fiber things, he just won't eat them. Can I give him Miralax? He drinks apple juice, but he needs something that will work fast because he's so uncomfortable and wakes up so much in the night because of it. TIA!

I give my 11 month old miralax so I think it's safe to give. We use 1 tsp in an 8 ounce bottle.

I had this same problem with my 4 yr old yesterday. I put her in a warm bath for about 20 mins and rubbed her belly counter-clock wise for about 5 mins while she was in the bath. The warm water relaxes the bottom muscles, and the rubbing of the stomach gets the intestines working. Within about 20 of getting out of the bath we had poop! Lol. She passed something about the size of an orange. And Miralax is totally safe to give. Her pedi prescribed it.

Thank you! When he gets up from his nap, I'll get him in the bath.
