Just curious... do you have a gun in your home?

I used to think there was no point.. but about 2 weeks ago there was someone running around near by trying to break into homes and there was semi-automatic firing off from about 3-5 am... I felt like a sitting duck at home w/ my LOs because I know I couldn't stop someone with a semi-auto..
they were on my porch but ran off of the porch when the dogs started barking.. and ran down to the neighbors...
freaked me out pretty bad..
and with so working afternoons, and midnights when I'm home alone with the girls.. I'm 100xs more freaked out..

We don't yet but we are saving up for one. Dh and his grandpa are teaching me how to shoot a ton of different guns since I've never even held a gun before. We are just going to get a small one (DHs grandpa calls them noise makers) since I don't want to kill someone just protect dd and I if needed.

me and hubby have a few... my doors r always locked! these day's you don't kno who is about.

eta: I know how to use all of them.

We have one. I do t know how to use it yet but my husband does. I want to learn this year and maybe get my own.

Yes, we have three in the house and one that SO carries concealed. I am going to get my own soon but I am in the process of learning how to shoot properly and gun safety first.
I don't feel comfortable carrying my own just yet.

We have 2 in the house. And more in our gun cabinet in storage. My husband and his step dad. Taught me to shoot a few months ago because I was terrifies of guns.

I two of my own, three of my dad's that I got after he passed and DH has 6. So yes, we have guns in our house.

There are several in our home. All locked up, but can be easily gotten to if needed.


There was a shooting 2 blocks from my house yesterday. 3 police officers were shot, but there were no life threatening injuries.

We don't have a gun here. Would like one, just haven't gotten one. We do have a 6ft sword that's really really really intimidating though. It's not one of the fake ones, lol. It goes from double edged to double serrated edge then double edged again before it gets to the handle. I know it's slower than a gun, but I'd imagine if someone came into our house and was met by that intimidating sight and the thought of that going through them, I'm pretty sure they would turn around and try another house. lol!

Wow that's so cool! And way better than what I have lol, I keep this knife that DH went bear hunting with on my nightstand. It's short but looks really intimidating and would do some damage. I can't wait until we save enough for the safe and gun.

We own 3 right now, one is mine. I know how to use all of them, though.
We're going to get a pistol and probably another hunting gun next Friday.

I think that's what I'll get is a pistol..

We used to live with my dad.. he has close to 30 guns.. and can carry concealed. so I never really felt unsafe.. I feel bad for anyone who attempts to walk into his house..but how that we're on our own it's completely different

My SO and i dont have one yet. We both want one though andplan pn getting it with our taxes as well as our conceal and carry!
