Pregnant during a divorce

Suppose you were going through a divorce, a non-amicable one due to the relationship being abusive. One day, you find out you are pregnant and there is a 0% chance of the baby being anyone but your soon to be ex's child. What would you do. Would you keep it, abort, or give it up for adoption? If you did keep it, what last name would you give the child? Would you tell the father? D&d

abort 100%.

Keep it and give it my last name.

Either abort, or not tell the father.
Give him/her my last name.

I have a friend who found out she was pregnant a week after her and her husband split. She kept him.

I personally would abort, simply because I could never afford 2 children on my own. But I can certainly see the reasoning behind keeping it too

probably adoption and i wouldn't tell the father at all.

And most likely not tell anyone who the father is. If asked probably just say, it doesn't matter

Personally keep it, tell the father, and give it my last name. But that is just me.

I would keep it and give it my last name. I wouldn't tell the father out of fear of him getting partial custody and abusing that child.

I would keep the baby & not tell the father.

i cant imagine my dh being abusive so its hard for me to answer this question... if it was emotionally abusive id have the baby and prob still give it his last name because we already have two children together but if he was a psycho and physically abusive id prob keep it and file for full custody with him having supervised visitation or something? i dont know even if he abused me i could never imagine him abusing his kids...

My daughters father abused me, emotionally, physically and sexually and while I have had my moments of worry, I know deep down he would never do anything to our daughter

Abort but I don't want anymore kids anyway.

And keep in mind that if he's abusive and he finds out you're pregnant (which he will...word gets around and you can't escape the belly), that could get even messier and possibly dangerous. Because you know the likelihood that he'd claim you cheated on him is impossibly high.

And if you've been under his thumb, you're likely unemployed or working a low paying job that you just started. You'd probably need some assistance until you got back on your feet and they will go after him for child support.
