What do you think of this spelling?

So a friend from childhood is having a little girl & naming her Alyvia....I don't think I have ever saw it spelled that way. When I say the real spelling Olivia, I pronounce the O in it....idk it is kind of odd? lol. Or am I completely wrong & is there a diff version of the name pronounced with an A at the beginning? lol. What do you think of that spelling? Do you like it or no?

Olivia is gorgeous, I wanted to name my daughter that so badly. Alyvia is terrible, IMO. I don't like it at all. Ruins the flow/prettiness of the name.

Honestly, I think the name Olivia is bad enough (sorry ladies who like the name, it's even my sister's name and I can't stand it) without mauling the spelling. I've seen Alivia but this is the first I've heard of someone using a y.

I like the name Olivia too, when I saw that I was just like "Whyyyy that spelling?!" lol.

People are weird, lol. I pronounce it Oh-Liv-Ee-Uh (for obvious reasons) and the A and Y just smurf that up.

Alivia is fairly common...As for the pronounciation I've never heard it pronounced with the O sound. I've always heard Uh-livia....but maybe that's a southern thing.That's why I can understand the Alivia spelling even though I much more prefer Olivia

Yea me too! That is what threw me off as well.

I like it but I like uncommon not that you could tell it my DD name is Emma lol

I actually pronounced it as A-liv-e-a instead of O-liv-e-a...I don't like the spelling for either pronunciation

That spelling too would make it pronounced like Aly-vi-uh.

Ehhhh. I wouldn't do that. I like no so common names with normal spellings, but that is just me. I didn't even care for Oliva until my SIL named my niece that. But some people just spell things different. My sister named one of her kids Mathieu.
