but people need to stop complaining and whining about today. dont let today stress you out. if anything your man should do little things for you other times of the year and not need a holiday as an excuse to do so. so if he doesnt get you anything dont freak out and be lucky just to be able to spend time with him. i cant even skype with my husband today, and hes not expected to come home til next month

I totally agree with you! Idc if DH gets me anything. Just getting to spend a few hours before he goes to work and when he gets home is enough for me. Wish you the best. :-)

I was right there with you until you had to make it a 'my day is worse than yours so appreciate what you have' thing, at least that's what it seems like.

But in general, I agree. People worry too much about this day. Do little things all year round, and show your love all through the year. I do admit, SO is making me dinner, made me a drink, cleaned the kitchen, and is giving me a massage later, but he does those things all year round throughout the year, so yeah...

it was sort of like appreciate what you have and dont just look at the negative. ive been with my man for 5 years and ive never cared if hes gotten me anything on that specific day. so even if its just the typical card and chocolates i was still happy

i just couldnt believe my sister in law was complaining her husband/my brother had to work all day when she obviously knows at least he will be home at some point today to spend time with her. i mean heck she shouldnt need valentines day as is she thinks every other day is all about her anyway

Mine's the same way, so I know what you mean, lol. I appreciate SO giving me a break and mini vacation tonight, and the fact that he's going to be driving a LONG drive next Thursday to go to my lil brother's basic training graduation, so I get sick of seeing people bitch because their SO didn't get them roses or chocolate. That smurf doesn't matter anyhow, flowers die and chocolate goes to your waist. The little things are what matters.

I agree. I wish my husband could be home to spend today with us. But his mistress(the army) has him busy in the field where he will be for over a week *sigh* Well on the plus side I get to have my favorite meal of all time (stroganoff) because he's not home and hates it lol. He does things to show he loves me all the time We don't need a hallmark holiday for that lol.
