Saving Cord Blood

Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? How much does it cost?

We did, I think it was almost $2,000 and it's an additional $100 per year for storage. So far thankfully we haven't needed it but it gives me peace of mind that it's there. I have a friend who lost her baby a week before his 2nd birthday from leukemia. They tried IVF for a match for the cord blood. So that was our deciding factor, if it could have (no way to know for sure) saved him we want it just in case. good luck in whatever decision you make. FYI you can also donate it, I don't believe there is any fee with that. Might give you some good karma too  If we weren't going to keep it i was going to donate it.
