Sex hurting while nursing

Is it normal for sex to hurt the whole time you nurse? My LO is 14 months but I still nurse a lot. Sex is hurting so bad   should I talk to my DR? this is making me so sad

Are you really dry? I was the whole time I nursed and a couple months after. Nursing can cause decrease in estrogen which dries you up. LUBE LUBE AND MORE LUBE iis what worked for me. I couldn't believe my poor vagina, it was like shrunken and dry... totally normal the doc said, he even warned me about it happening at my PP appt so i wasn't too concerned. Good luck, but def worth asking about. he said if it became too much of an issue he could prescribe estrogen gel for me but it never got to that point.

It's a lube issue. Use lube!!!

IF LUBE DOESNT HELP---The oxytocin produced from nursing depletes your progesterone levels---progesterone supplements (cream or vaginal suppositiry) could also help as progesterone creams/gels can help you produce more of your own lube!!!

Yes and I feel like I am too small. I am actuly very small(Dr;s comment on it all the time) And I am lucky to have a a SO who is on the Large side but still... we use to be able to "fit" LOL

Seriously it feels like he won't fit anymore. He said it doesn't feel dry but I can tell I am.

Thank you. For the fist year after I had the baby me and my SO were having some serious issues and did not have sex very often... I mean like 4 times. So I never thought to buy lube or anything.

Things are getting better. Should I just buy any old kind or is there a type good for people who are dry from nursing?

My lady parts shriveled up it hurt to put tampons in when I started getting periods at 6mo PP so I used pads. I couldn't believe how tight and dry it was, A good lube was key, Astroglide isn't bad but I have been using preseed cause we wanted another baby asap  so try a lube and talk to the doc  good luck momma it sucks being a woman sometimes!!! LOL

I know and no one warned me of this!!!! I couldn't believe how little and flat it was, my "lips" were gone!! Oh man too funny I haven't thought of that in a while. She self weaned at 10 mo and I think around 12 mo it went back to normal but you know how you just don't notice it's all of a sudden back??? LOL Good luck to you too, it will return I promise

I like the "Pink" brand water-based lube (I am sensitive to chemicals). They also have a warming version and a silicone based version, but the water based is my personal favorite---although one of my friends swears by the warming one for a little "extra" stimulation to get her going. A little goes a LONG way and I love it.

And you can also try prolonging foreplay after you apply the lube to help stretch the muscles. When I was new to sex after baby, we had to do this because I tore badly and my scar had issues stretching for a while (lube definitely helped to do it!).

that makes me a tid bit jealous! LOL I miss nursing but having freedom to go braless around the house or whatever has been great. I was such an over producer and leaked constantly! I shoulda bought stock in the nursing pads, or fed a small villiage  I hope and pray i get to do it again one day!!!!! Congrats on making it so long it's truly something to be proud of... heck I'm proud for you!!!

Haha thanks mama! I am proud of myself too. I was very tiny/underweight and everyone told me I'd have a hard time nursing/producing...absolutely not true!

Mine is just now 15 months and LOVE the boobie. He says Boob? and More boob? Sometimes he even say boob in his sleep! He use to suck his fingers so I could nurse him down and then get him unlatched and he would put his fingers in his mount. Now he is self weaning off his fingers... so I sometimes have to sleep all night with him on the boob!

Did you co sleep while nursing? Milk productivity is at its best during the night. SO co-sleeping really helps. If you didn't do it last time and get a chance again then you might want to try that.

I nursed my son til his 2nd birthday and he's almost 4 now and he STILL tells me that my boobies are yummy and asks if he can have a "little taste" and is VERY excited for his sister to come and eat mama's boobies too. He has already asked for milk in a cup since I told him his teeth would hurt too much. So, when my supply is established I'll probably let him have some in a cup from time to time if he wants.
