I hate Valentines Day

This is our 5th Valentines Day together and every single year my husband gets me the same thing, chocolate and a card. Every year I get something he really wants or needs...this year got him a new hat and wallet and first thing he asked was...can I return it and get a different one...pissed me off...I took alot of time and consideration to get those for him, and to top it off I told him last week that even though he never buys me jewelry this year i'd really like a Brighton charm bracelet because i'd love to have something that has our kids birthstones and different things I enjoy out of life. I even created one and sent him the link. I'm very disappointed because I got chocolate and a card again...it wouldn't be so bad but he knows i'm on a diet and that is not part of my diet..i've already lost 32 pounds on my diet and I don't want to stray from it cause it is working good for me. I'm just disappointed in him...I know I should be thankful that I even have a husband and someone to give me something, and I am thankful but it kinda upset me. Please no rude comments...

This is our 5th Valentine's day together and I've only gotten something 2 times. This year, I'm getting nothing and I don't even know if DH will make it home since he ran out of gas  

At least he thought enough to get you something.

from here on out i would just tell him to longer exchange gifts for vday then to save the stress and hassle about the holiday

lol   yes, I told him I wanted the Brighton charm bracelet and sent him the link with all the items that were on it where he could print it out and take it to the store...

That's exactly what i'm going to do. We rarely buy each other Christmas gifts unless it's something we need that year we get each other something, and for birthdays and our anniversary we just go to dinner and come home. In our first few years I went above and beyond, secretly bought him the grill he wanted for his birthday and had it delivered to the house, a giant Kobalt tool set for our 4th anniversary that he talked about all the time...I know in a relationship it's about love and give and take...I just feel like i'm doing all the giving and i'm tired of feeling bad about myself like he doesn't think i'm worth the time and effort

and this year we got back a pretty decent income tax and since last year I told him we need to set aside some of it and have a real nice anniversary this year...like a cruise or a night away just us...we never had a honeymoon. He wants to spend all the income tax on paying off his truck (which is no problem) and then buy yard equipment that he only will use rarely and will sit there for months and a boat. I asked him about doing something when the time comes and he seemed completely unconcerned
