Maple Bacon Cupcakes :)

I just made some spur of the moment... turned out pretty great  

When my hubby suggested putting bacon a cupcake/doughnut a few months ago, I laughed at him. I had some left over bacon and brown sugar from something else I made today, so I decided to try it and see if I like it. I never would have thought I'd love them this much.

Do you have any weird/strange food combinations that seem gross but are actually amazing?

I love liverwurst and creamcheese together...I don't think its weird or strange but everyone else sure does! Most delicious thing ever is a slice of liverwurst between a plain bagel with creamcheese....to die for!

hmmm never even had liverwurst, but I love cream cheese bagels...

I love a peanut butter & jelly sandwich with sliced bananas & a slice of cheese.

Everyone seems to be ok w/the banana, but they all say EWWWWW to the cheese. It's seriously good! I don't get it lol

I don't have any strange combos but can I have your cupcake recepe? That sounds so good. Is liverwurst like potted meat?

I have no clue... Ive been eating it since I was a baby....my husband refuses to touch it cause he says it looks like catfood... I hate it from the deli, I love it prepackaged and get it in aisle with hotdogs and sausage

Seriously, be daring and just try it, its so good! Gotta have it already ready though so you can slap the creamcheese on the bagel while its hot so it gets all melty and sandwich the slice of liverwurst inbetween and eat it while its still warm... its like this meld of flavors that is just perfection....

Okay I'm like drooling now... I need to go shopping and restock on bagels and liverwurst

this is where I grabbed the recipe....

and it gives measurements in ounces, instead of cups and tablespoons.. so I had to look up conversions.
5 1/2 oz flour= 1 1/8 cup
5 1/2 oz sugar= 7/8 cup
6 oz butter= 3/4 cup or 1 1/2 stick


and on the icing
1 oz butter= 1/8 cup
3 oz cream cheese= 6 tbsp (but the wrapper marked it in oz so it worked out)

and I had some bacon crumbs left over from another recipe, so I baked them on a cookie sheet with brown sugar for the topping

also, instead of putting lemon in the icing, I added syrup there as well

sounds like potted meat. i agree with yourdh it does look like catfood
