leaking and engaged babies.

posted 14th Feb
So just curious...if you leak and then the babies head engaged is it possible that the head can stop further leaks? If that makes sense. I peed today straight after i woke up and then wiped and stood up and a trickle of liquid ran down ny leg...it had no smell. Well I was told to lie on my side for half an hour and then stand up and if i leaked i should call L&D . No leaks but I think bubs head may be engaged?

It can slow it down but it shouldn't stop it altogether

It can block fluid from coming out but if you truly think your water broke I'd be going in just to be safe so you don't get an infection.

It wasnt much though. Enough to run down my leg but none since then. I went to the doctors the other day but she didnt seem to know what she was doing...she was trying to liste to the heartbeat with a stethescope and told me it was too hard and that none of the doctors in that centre (not my usual place) had dopplers.

Yes, it totally can. My water broke when I was in labor and I didn't even know it (I figure it happened when I was in the shower dozing on and off). The ob tried to break my water and just ended up scratching poor Isaac's head. Then when he came out, he came with a massive gush.
You're only really at risk of infection if you put anything in your vagina. I wouldn't let the doctor check me even in that situation.

DD's head would "cork" it. The water would stop. But as soon as I would move one direction or the other it would come out in little gushes again.
Doesn't sound like your water to me.

Im thinking maybe I should go in just so I can stop worrying about every little thing that way they may give me some piece of mind for the next 13 weeks because ever since this pain started Ive been worrying, I know this is my second pregnancy but I thought it was supposed to be easier then the first lol I didnt realise theyd be SO different.

I have to write on this, in most second pregnancys the baby doesn't engage till labour but they can go in and out of the pelvis as the area is stretched out and has more room to move around. I have been in major pain in my pelvis area (alot worse than Axyl) for months now and its just getting worse to the point I can't roll over at night without crying. Its not easier at all. I would stop stressing, you have done this before.

Um you also have SPD i dont. I rang the labour department and they said to come in because of the blood yesterday. Obviously I dont think shes tryna come out right now but Id like to see if they can give me advice for the pain.

If it was just that once then I'd suspect it's just watry discharge, I've leaked with an engaged head plugging the rupture point before and it will eventually pool and continue, I've also had really watery discharge and it's pretty hard to tell the difference.
