Not sure what area you live in, but where I am at, there are about 10 car lots within walking distance of my house. I didn't buy off of craigslist, but went to the car lot to shop for my car(s).

I live in a smurf town lol. The only two car lots really close (but not walking distance) have smurf owners who sell crappy cars.

also, theres no way it should take someone 10 years to pay off 70k, that's just insane! but as long as you're comfortable and making your payments i guess that's alll that matters. i personally would just have it paid off in well under 5 years, very easily. just our monthly rent is over $4,000 a month.

The trailer is on a lot in which I rent. The house itself, which is mobile, I am paying for (I own it). So put the two together, $1050 per month.

You also live in an expensive area and probably make more per hour or something. The going rate for a decent apartment here is $800-900ish and for a smaller house $1000-1200, bigger house (5+bedroom) $1200-1500.

HOLY crap! Our rent is 285. O_O SO doesn't even make 4000 a month.

We don't either. DH works two jobs and I work one job so that's 3 jobs combined and we only bring in $2,800 or so which isn't much in the state of CO.

EDIT: So for our house alone to cost 1050, that's a lot for us.

the saturn is our shared work car so i dont have to fit all the kids in it. I have an alero that i use when SO is at work and theres 3 kids in the back one in front. Then we have a suburban for when we ALL go somewhere & to use in the snow
