Lovely Fight for Valentine's Day

I had a relaxing morning with the kids while DH slept his normal hours.. Made Valentine's Chex and gave the kids their Valentine's from me. Then woke DH up and all of us cuddled for a bit. Then the kids wanted to share their boxes of Sweet Hearts with him so they did that, while I made lunch. Then we were hanging out and I gave him his hard- and surprise he had gotten me one too. He is not a Valentine's guy, but I guess he's finally catching on that I do like it. Anyway- He asks me to make his lunch. Usually he does it, because I "over pack it" and I told him awhile back if he was going to complain than to do it himself. I mean first I told him to give it to one of the other guys, trash it or put it away. Anyway- He's been making his own lunch for the most part for awhile. So I packed it today and he seemed happy with it. But then just as he's getting his shoes on to leave he's all hey- there is a lot of poop in the back yard and it's your turn to do it. So I'm like okay? It was your turn to give the dog a bath, but I've done it the last 2 times, including today- because you've been saying for the past week- tomorrow. But whatever. I knew it needed to be done because today is the 3rd day and we usually do it every day or two. Anyway.... I get my stuff out (it's raining) so I can get it done. And he keeps asking me what I'm doing... (numb nuts it doesn't take a genius to figure out what socks, boots, and a coat are for). And so I ignore him. And then he comes out side a few minutes later and is like- I don't know why you were ignoring me- it is your turn. I did it last time. I'm like stop following me around and nagging me. I just want to get this done. So then a couple minutes later, he opens the door pops his head out and is like I'm leaving for work. I love you- Happy Valentine's Day. I told him Happy Valentine's Day, I love you too. And he shuts the door. No kiss. Drives off about the time I'm in the front dealing with my bag of poo, putting the shovel in the garage and closing everything up. As he comes reversing back down the driveway, rolls his window down and asks for a kiss. I was irritated, so I told him, you can get out of the car and come give me a kiss, but I'm busy at the moment. So he shouts, it goes both ways you know. And peels out..

I think it was a little passive-aggressive from your part but I understand your frustration.

but seriously...if SO sent me out to pick up smurf on Vday Id stick his face in it!!!

My turn or not, its Valentines day....give me a break dude.

Atleast he came back for a kiss......

I would have done it after he left, if he hadn't done it before. It's not that big of a deal. It's just dog poop.

Well my man can be a douche when he wants, but he would never send me to pick up dog smurf, so I guess I look at it different.

Yeah, he came back for a kiss. But he didn't need to be hollering at me. He could have walked out on the patio in the first place. Not just stuck his head through the crack in the door. Or got out of his truck for a proper hug and a kiss, like we do every day. He was being rude for no reason.

We both pick it up. We have a shovel and a pail we line with a garbage bag and tie off when we are done. It's not bad. Why is picking up dog poop a big deal? It's kind of like changing diapers, but even then not that bad.
