I'm 34 weeks and found out I have gestational diabetes
posted 14th Feb
I found out late..
If I follow my diet perfectly, will the baby be okay?
I'm not over 36, no diabetes in my family, and my doctor says its rare especially for someone like me..?
Anyone have experience with this?

He said GD is rare? Thats far from the truth. I know a lot of women that have/had it. And yes, follow your diet, take any medications/insulin they give you and LO will be fine. I found out late as well, and mine was not under control in the least. I was induced at 40 weeks even, and she only weighed 6 lbs 11 oz. But i also smoked while i was pregnant, so she wasn't huge.

t just means you need to be carefull how you eat. I have diabetes and now I am pregnant, I have to be carefull with everything I eat.
I had a good talk to my OB a few days back and I expressed that I am worried about having a massive baby and having to have a c-section she told me this if you where to eat nothing but bread with jam you would expand it's the same with a baby, thats why you have to be carefull what your eating.

He said he only sees it a couple times a year.
