please help. freaking out.

posted 14th Feb
The past week or two, I've noticed that when I take a shower that I've been losing more hair than normal, and that my hair has been a lot thinner than it used to be. My hair used to be super thick. Anyways...is losing a lot of hair a normal PP symptom? I'm 3.5mo PP. I've also had surgery to have my gallbladder removed so IDK if that would affect anything or not. Is there something I can take/do to help this??? I've got an appointment to get my hair cut this weekend so should I bring it up with my stylist or is that something she would know???? Should I go see my family doctor and talk to him??? I'm really freaking out mammas.   I want to fix this before I start going bald

Absolutely normal. And will probably do that for another month or too.
Just google PP hair loss and you'll understand what happens to your hair during and after pregnancy

Thank you. I'm seriously so worked up right now that I'm almost to the point of tears. My hair is one of the only features I've ever liked about myself, so if I lose that... :/

Are you on any birth control? When I got on birth control PP I started losing hair when I previously had no problems with it.

I took it for a month, but stopped about a month ago. DH and I have just been using condoms and being super super careful.

I lost mine for a while after I got off of the BC so maybe it's just from that? I'd ask your doc to make you feel better.

here, here's a good explanation..

and it usually starts happening for women around 4m pp

Yep completely normal. I'm 4.5 months pp and I noticed last month especially when I showered that my hair was falling out in clumps. Its everywhere I'm like literally shedding. I was told that its normal since when you're pregnant your hair grows faster so when that hormone is gone your hair can fall out.

I started taking a once daily vitamin, but not sure if that helped or not. When I brushed my hair I would get a full brush, the stopper in the shower would fill with one shower, and I couldn't wear black/cook without putting my hair up.
