re: would i be selfish if i

Yep it would be. I have scoliosis & a ton of other joint issues related to my connective tissue disorder and even though I was in a ton of pain, I wanted them to keep her in longer but they had to induce me at 37 weeks because of my bleeding disorder. She was not ready to come out & my body was not ready to have her either. I ended up with a c-section after almost 2 days in labor & she ended up in the NICU because of an infection & other issues because she was not ready to be born yet....she stopped breathing for 20 seconds after she was born & had issues with her blood sugar.

Nope but I do have horrible pain with my connective tissue disorder with TONS of issues which were made worse during pregnancy. I was in horrible pain as soon as the 2nd trimester came along....

They never even put you in a back brace? I heard they do that when it is bad.

I had sciatica with my last to the point where my leg gave out unexpectly from the 6 or 7 th month til 41 weeks when I was induced and gave birth to a healthy 8lb 5oz baby girl. I couldn't get comfortable at all and was in constant pain even with the stretches they gave me to do. You can make it.

Can you ask your Dr's for tips/help/support managing your pain? Is there a specialist you can see to help you. I'm sorry the pain is terrible, but you would probably feel worse if you pushed your baby to be born before they're ready and have a possible side effect....right?

Your Dr is not the only one who will have to allow it most hospitals will not let you be induced that early unless it is life threatening I am pregnant with my 3rd after having my tubes tied and I have horrible pain from it and in my back but they are inducing me at 39 weeks so my son cant get any bigger he is huge already! the last few weeks will fly by dont worry it will be over before you know it!

The tests they do in school told me i have scholiosis, is that what causes the back pain i've been having?
You are only 37 weeks so only a few more weeks, just think of it like that and you'll have your baby healthy and know it was ready to come!
You can try laying down, that always helps me, Also my dad reccomended i try to lay with a pillow between my legs, so maybe try that?

You're not the only one with scoliosis. I have it too, but I'd much rather have my child come out when he's ready than to force him out because of the pain. It's not gonna kill you. Just wait it out a few more weeks.

Yes, it would be. That doesn't make you a bad person. Pain is hard, I know. Just try to remember that there IS an end in sight, and that you're doing the best thing you can for your baby. Since due dates can be off by about 2 weeks, a 37 weeker could actually only be 35 weeks.

It's rough. Take it as easy as you can. Ask your Dr about non-medicine pain relief options. Warm baths, heating pad on low, stuff like that might help.

I don't have scoliosis so I can't say the amount of pain you are in. I had a 37 week baby due to preterm birth after going into early labor starting from 7 months all the way on. Strict bed rest, the whole nine yards and even though he was born perfectly healthy...I would never suggest asking your dr to induce that early unless it was life threatening for you and the baby. I had two IUGR babies both born at 38 weeks and they both struggled somewhat. My last daughter, I had the absolute worst Braxton hicks contractions I have ever experienced in my life which kept causing me to go to get checked out knowing I had a history of PTL. And although the pain I experienced felt like real contractions and it hurt so bad to the point that I couldn't walk or get comfortable...I'm glad I didn't have to have her any earlier than I did bc she might have caused me the worst pain I felt but her safety was the most important. Hang in there! It doesn't make you a bad person that you are miserable and want to be out of pain. Nobody truly knows what you go through except yourself. But try to hang onto the fact that you only have to make it a couple more weeks and think about how happy you will be knowing your baby will come out healthy and on time. Trust me when I say this...you don't EVER want to be in the position where your baby is a preemie or needs hospitalized. My middle child was a NICU baby. She was so very sick bc of IUGR and pneumonia at birth and I struggled to hold onto hope every day she was in the hospital, always wondering if this would be the day I would go to see her and they would tell me she was gone. She stopped breathing so many times during her stay. It was terrible. Good luck though...try methods to relieve the pain as much as possible and relax till the baby decides it's time.
