i'll have to keep an eye on this post I'm about to have my second next month too and i know everyone is different but i have heard that too that labor is usually shorter and so is the time you spend pushing

No. I was induced at 39 weeks with my first 2, my first labor took 10 hours. My second labor took 12.
Now with my third, I went into labor naturally at 38 weeks, and labor lasted for just over 3 hours. THAT was nice, except it went so fast I had nobody there for me :/ But physically, it was way better

very true for me!
1st labor was 19 hrs
2nd 1 hr 20 mins
3rd a little over 2 hrs (only bc the doc wasnt there so they were holding her in!)

1st time took me forever to progress 2nd i went from 4 to 10 in 15 mins and about the same with my 3rd

False. Every labor is different so not everyone will have a faster 2nd one. Both times I was in labor for 20+ hours

my 2nd was easier and faster than my 1st, my 2nd was also 2 lbs smaller though so not sure if that was it.. my first was probably 6 hours, 3.5 pushing, my second was probably 4 hours, 20 minutes pushing..

They were both pretty much the same. Both 18 hours long and took forever to dilate. Pushing was a little easier the second time but not by much. My third was my easiest so far.

With DD, it was 3 hours and 27 minutes from start to finish! That's why I'm asking  
If its really a true statement, then I can't friken wait to have this baby!

Oh & to add, I wasn't dilated or effaced when my pit was started.

It was shorter, but then again the labor with my first one was also pretty quick.

First: Period like cramps started at around dinner time, full blown contractions at 2-3am, got to hospital at 8:30 am, had him at 11:44 am
Second: Period like cramps morning of the fifth, full blown contractions by 4pm, had him at 6 something PM.
Third: period like cramps from like the second trimester, would scare the crap out of me. Contracting on and off for a couple of days (had them down to like 7min apart but would fade) at about 2 am on the 17th I had been contracting regularly for about an hr so decided to go in, full blown by 5, had her at 6 something AM.

I'm curious on this as well, since everybody keeps telling me that too. I had a relatively fast labor with Z (about 6 hours total, and only 3.5 hours at the birth center) so everyone is like.. you'll going to pop that baby out like nothing!

I was naive to think #2 would be easier because that's what everyone says.
My first labor was long and hard. My Son was huge. I pushed for nearly 3 hours and fractured my tail bone in the process. Labor #2, contractions were way less painful and I progressed slower. Come push time I pushed for an hour and a half but he wouldn't budge so I had to have a c section. He was smaller than my first son   Labor is just so unpredictable. Even if you've done it before.

I broke my tailbone with my first too - she was 9.5 lbs and 21" with a head in the 99th percentile, plus she wasn't in the correct position. Not sure how I managed such a fast labor with all that going on.

Mine was super fast too. Less then 3 & a half hours. So that's why I wanted others experiences. Buttttttt, with my luck, it'll be so long & a horrible experience.
I'm hoping this time around its just as short or shorter & he just comes right on out like nothing!

Yeah, I was hoping this time he might be slightly smaller.. but after seeing the 3D sono this last weekend, I don't think that's happening. I think he might actually be bigger. :| So, I'll take the same length labor.. I just don't want to break my tailbone again, because it took forever to heal.

Yeah, I thought since I did all that then number #2 would be a breeze. But it was hard, scary and pretty traumatic.
