Quoting Carmen B. Rotten:" My fiance's mom is all about some cloth diapering and she said for a newborn I should just use the disposable, ... [snip!] ... the end so he'd have been huge!) and my fiance's family has a history of big babies, so maybe she'll fit in the 8 lb. ones lol."
They make newborn cloth where is snaps down around the cord but then you need the one size for when they grow out of it. I used disposables until about 3 months when we made the change.

I started small. I bought like 4 or 5 diapers all different brands and figured out what we liked then stocked up. We were slow to start but im glad we made the switch. I love that when we are done with diapers I can re-sell them and get a decent amount of money back.

I used Huggins when my babies were little then sometime after my second turned two I discovered mom to mom brand and that's all we get now ( there like Huggins) my kids always leaked through pampers .

I'm selling my newborn stash if you are interested? I have 26 alvas, 4 swaddlebees, and one itti bitti d'lish. Most are girlie, some are neutral color. The swaddlebees snap down for the cord. My daughter is just growing out of them at 4.5 months and 12 pounds.

How big was your LO at birth?

Did the alvas fit right away? - Im considering it for our next LO (both boys in cloth atm) but don't know wether to do alvas NB or prefolds/covers.

Both babies were 6lb at birth.. im wondering if they fit that small.

Hmmmm

Thanks! I'll let you know when I decide what I want to do lol. Don't hold em for me or anything, if you find someone who wants em, sell em. I know a bunch of people who cloth diaper so I'm sure I can find some good ones. I may take you up on that though.

Yes the Nb alvas fit right away. She was 6 lbs when we started in the hospital. She is just now wearing the os alvas. My favorite was the swaddlebees, but the alvas have been amazing too!
