School loans questions?

I just got an email from the studentloans.gov site and it said i had a disclosure statement that I should look at. Well it was saying something like Your school plans to disburse the Net Loan Amount as follows and listed the amounts for subsidized loans and unsubsidized loans. What does that mean? Is it sending it to the school to pay for tuition or is that whats left after paying tuition and books etc... cause I have no clue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

That would be the amount after tuition is taken out.
