How did you switch your baby from your bed to crib, any tips?

Did you start off by naps in their crib?
She takes 3 hour naps during the day, but if i put her in her crib it only lasts 20 minutes. So I just need to do the process slowly.

I started putting her in her playpen and moving it every other day further and further away until she was in her crib. So, she slept in our room in a playpen, the living room, dining room, her room in a playpen, and then her crib.

It worked for her.

It doesn't work so well if you have other kids ( ) but she was an only at the time so it worked out.

How old was your baby? did she still wake up a lot?? My daughter is 10 months, still wakes up about 3 times a night, on occasion will sleep right through a full 12 hours. (she technically sleeps through the night, she will sleep her 5 hours but is waking up when I'm ready for bed usually)

We started moving her when she was 2 or 3 months old. When they start sleeping through the night, we move them because if I'm not woken up every few hours, I"m a dangerous person to sleep with.

lol wow, I wish!! When she realizes she's in her crib she freaks. It's my own fault though, I always brought her in bed with me when it wasn't necessary, then it became a full time thing because it was just easier. But I need to do the switch!

haha, well I feel like my daughter won't be sleeping "through the night" on a regular basis anytime soon. But she is a little bed hog and I need my space! lol.

We just put him in his crib one night and that was that. I wish we didn't make the move from sleeping in our bed to his crib so soon but he started moving around way to much and shoving his face into either myself or my husband. I started to feel uneasy about him being in the bed with us

This just reminded me that I had a nightmare last night that she flipped right out of her crib, and her pack and play happened to be there to break her fall with soft blankets. lol
But jeez, I will not be so lucky to just switch her like that, Iv been trying and she is sleeping in our bed more and more. And I do love to wake up to her little face but I just feel its time to sleep in her own bed.
