did I miss something?? I never said I would let him CIO. I just think it's odd that he is up every hour in his room and wants to eat, or have me hold him (usually both) But in our room or during the day he doesn't eat that often or that much.

Ah! You're my very first PT! Thank you! I'm a noob and I've been getting hopelessly addicted to BG all week (I'm on bed rest and bored stiff). I'm all excited now haha  

not to further sidetrack the thread, OP, there is no right or wrong way to go about parenthood. Especially when it comes to sleep. The fact of the matter is, especially when he's too young to really actively teach skills to, all you really need to worry about is loving and bonding and keeping everyone as rested as possible. Don't get caught up in the details. He'll only be a baby for a moment, I promise you won't look back and think "if only he had fed less at night when we transitioned to crib sleeping". Just love that little guy and everything else will fall into place (excluding actually issues arising of course. But the basics? They tend to evolve over time on their own).

I more worry about him over eating and puking or getting an upset stomach. I can handle getting up for 10mins to cuddle, or 20mins to feed every hour. But I don't want him over eating. Bc at night he sleep eats. He instantly falls back to sleep after his diaper change but he continues to eat. He only stops bc the bottle is empty (when I hold him anyway) if he is in our room he stays in his rock-in-play and eats and will turn away when done.

I don't think anyone said anything about CIO, I didn't think you were saying that. I think your dealing with the same situation we all do when we start working on new sleep routines, and we're all just telling you that when he's SO young you really don't need to worry about it. You can either bring him back to bed, or get up more frequently at night until his schedule adjusts. Whatever you do is totally fine, and nothing matters aside from everyone staying happy and rested.

In my experience, babies that young won't eat unless they're hungry.

It's surprisingly difficult to legitimately overfeed an infant. They pretty much all go through phases of comfort feeding, especially during sleep transition. But again, whatever makes life easiest for you. If you're that concerned about it and you're absolutely positive he's not going through a growth spurt you can just try other comfort measures. I doubt you'd overfeed him though. My baby had thrush, they comfort feed around the clock, and we still never had huge issues with it.

I don't think it's a GS, bc during the day it's a battle to even get him to finish 4 oz. he will stop at 2 on the dot every time. And he has been at 4 since about 3months

I guess in that case it's probably just a comfort thing. Either way it'll pass with time. He'll either end up back in your bed and require less comfort on transition to crib when he's a little older, or he'll stay in his crib and gradually require less comfort over time as he gets used to it. Honestly you can't really go wrong here (within reason haha). Although, with the GS thing, sometimes babies just naturally go through weird feeding phases where they feed far more during certain hours than they normally would. I really don't think you need to even consider over-feeding as a factor unless he has a history of making himself ill. Four month olds are strange little creatures, thats for sure.

Thanks for the advise, I think i'll set up is pack-n-play back in our room. I honestly think he enjoys the rock-in-play to much and he's about to out grow it!

Too funny, the bed my daughter adored that caused all those problems when she outgrew it was a pack-n-play too! I think you're making the right call. It'll be WAY easier in just another few weeks. In the meantime, get some sleep mama!

He loves the snug feeling way to much. He actually sleeps in a ball (feet in the air) if he is in his crib bc of that thing!
