Lol. I do that, too. I just have to be careful with some things. As much as I want the smurfs to show their true colors, I don't want to really offend my best friend or in-laws. They're much more religious and conservative than I am.

I wish I could stir up debates on Facebook! I love every opportunity to discuss these things. Unfortunately I've built an entire life and career around these politics/ethics, so my friends list is like a 'portlandia' skit making fun of liberal social circles. Hard to kick off debate in a crowd of radical feminists, queer activists, trans women, social workers, hippies, literary snobs etc lol. Every now and then I wish someone would go all "legitimate rape doesn't result in pregnancy" on my newsfeed so I could get a decent convo out of it!

Oh man, I had one of those on my friends list for a long time until I couldn't stand it anymore. I had went to high school with him and out of respect, just ignored his rants, until one day he posted that Muslims are the spawns of Satan and will all burn in hell. I was like WTF is wrong with you?

I just had one of those too actually. I went to high school with her, and I kid you not, she got a nazi propaganda tattoo. Her baby was like two months old at the time, poor kid. It got really ugly. She was trying to convince me that anti-semitism never existed in north America anyways so people should just get over it and appreciate hitler's leadership skills.

What goes on in these people's heads? How can anyone make it okay to just write off an entire chunk of humanity because of abstract concepts like Muslim, Jew, gay, etc... Arg! Maybe I'm better off not having Facebook debates after all lol
