I am going to lose it

posted 13th Feb
My 3 month old cries none stop... no not cries screams. I am not exaggerating at all. My mom thinks that his insides developed wrong or something he screams so much. He nurses none stop pretty much or screams. He will play and be happy for maybe a total of 1 hour a day that is it. I told his doctor and all I ever get is "oh well it is probably because he was a preemie he will grow out of it". He wasn't THAT premature. 36 weeks 6 days is almost term! Not full Term but term. It isn't getting any better either. If anything it is getting worse or maybe it just feels like it is because it has been almost 4 months since he was born and he has been doing this from day one. He is other wise healthy and at a good healthy weight. IDK what to do any more he consumes all my time and energy and I have no choice but to let him CIO a good portion of the time (even though he doesn't usually stop unless I get him he and comfort nurse him) so i can tend to my other kids. WTH am I suppose to do?! My Older DS had colic BAD but this isn't like that at all this is a million times worse it is all day HELL!

Sounds like it might be AR. Or worse, AR and colic mixed together. You need a second opinion from another pedi. That's absolute BULLSmurf that it's because he's a preemie and he'll grow out of it.   Neither of my preemies had these issues. But nursing non stop sounds to me like he's trying to keep the burning out of his throat.

Id go for a second opinion for sure. I hate when doctors shrug things off like that..

Urghhh im sorry mama!!

My two have been like that as well.

1st bub it was lactose intolerance from my B/M, which gave him hideous colic.. but he also had reflux (silent)

Our 2nd bub did it too, except his was actual projectile reflux & colic.

I'd get a 2nd opinion.

I'd get a second opinion. I dealt with that for 3 weeks and had a break down every day. Finally we had a break through. I couldn't imagine almost 4 months of it plus having other children to tend to also.

I hope things get better for you!

sounds EXACTLY like my DS was before he got put on medication at 5 months, he had severe silent reflux and because he wasnt losing weight they wouldnt do anything but i new what it was because he had every symptom.
does your LO gulp, choke when on belly, choke randomly, arch back, comfort nurse frequently but in small amounts, arch neck, hate lying down flat, and pretty much scream (in pain) constantly? thats what my DS used to do and in the end i demanded i needed something for him because i was losing my mind and he gave me losec, literally a week later he was a different baby, he done the horrible screaming thing again yesterday most of the day again for the 1st time since the meds but im pretty sure its teething hes fine today, hes now 10 months and the happiest baby ever!

oh yer and my LO had colic at the same time.

i feel for you mama i know exactly what it was like, i was in tears with him 24/7 and was starting to get pnd. but the medication worked wonders, also try elevating his mattress at the top end, a paci, sitting him up as much as possible while feeding and for around 1/2 hr after, and maybe little sips of water here and there, you could also try baby gaviscon if they have it there, didnt work for my LO though.

Well then it sounds like he has AR. I guess that makes sense because my brother had that as a baby and my DH has it now. Guess I will be making an appointment with his pedi and putting some feet up some asses.
