What happens when...

What happens when you have a really big baby, and he or she grows out of diapers faster than they are ready to be potty-trained?
Does that happen?
I ask because my 6 month old (who is 96 percentile in both height and weight) is wearing size 3 diapers right now and they are already becoming snug. The highest diaper size I have seen is a 6 or 7. What happens if he's in 6's before his 1st birthday? Do I start buying pull-ups? Cloth Diapers? Depends ?
It sounds funny, but really, I'm worried! Has anyone had this happen to them?

They slow down in their growth, seriously. DD was in 5's at 6 months and stayed in 5's till she was PTd.

As they get older their body shape changes. Once kids hit the size 3/4 range the usually stay in it for awhile. I wouldn't stress until you are closer to that happening. My daughter was always in the upper 90% and never went past a size 4.

First of all, most babies slow down their weight gain in the second 6 months. DD was in size 3s at 6 months and now she's 11 months old and still in size 4s. And nowhere near the top of the size 4s (37lbs). As the baby gets older, the weight gain will slow down considerably. They shoot up quick in those first six months.

Kiddos slow down in growth (not really heightwise but weightwise) by age 1. They don't technically slow down, they just become more mobile which allows them to burn the calories they intake resulting in less weight gain. My DD has been in the 95% her whole life and she is almost a year old now, but she was in size 4 diapers by the time she was 7 months old. She is currently in size 4 still because she was an early walker and walked at 9 months so her mobility has kept her in a size 4 diaper at least for now.

BUT they do actually make adult diapers that are NOT depends. You have to special order them. You're not going to find them on the shelf at the grocery store. But there's a group of people called Adult Baby Diaper Lovers (AB/DL) and they are grown men and women who enjoy dressing up as babies and wearing diapers. They do make diapers that cater to all sizes of people.
Plus what about disabled children who will never potty train? They have to have diapers to accommodate them.

They slow down their growth. DD is almost 2 1/2, and she has been in 4's for....months. Maybe over a year. We're switching her to 5's, though. She is only about 25ish pounds, but she has my big butt. We always have to move her up a size early in the weight range.

Pull ups I'd say lol.
My 9 week old is 16lbs (born 10lbs 10oz) I dunno about the sizing because here we go by kgs (lbs) and we're almost into the second to last size.
