I don't know why but it just hit me that August kid grow up to be autistic adults. For some reason I just thought of he gets the helphe needs now that idk. I just never thought about it being forever thing.

Ohh, I think she's trying to say that autistic children grow into autistic adults, since there is no cure for autism.

I totally get it.

And I have the same fears and hopes. I hope the therapy and classes are going to be enough. I hope he wont need caring for after his dad and I are too old to do it. Who will do it after us? I never want him to go into a home.

I think she is saying she has an autistic child, and never really thought about the fact that one day he will be an autistic adult.

At first I thought you said kids born in August are autistic. I was like wait Im born in August!!! lol

But I see what your saying. I hope they either find a cure or that therapy does some kind of awesome work.

I know some amazing autistic adults. In fact, one of them is heading to NY to sing at Carnegie hall. Do your best. Don't stress too much about the future and the things out of your control. Focus on what you can do for him now to prepare him for life as an adult. Teach him things that he will need on a daily basis. You can do this.

It is scary considering the life most special needs adults lead. Unless they come from a very wealthy family they almost always end up in some low-end government funded group home.
