valentines day vent

Me and SO decided to celebrate valentines day today because Ill be gone tomorrow. I bought him a card and went out and bought ingredients for his favorite supper and cheesecake for desert. I knew I would be disappointed today so I don't know why Im surprised but he didn't get me anything. Not a card, nothing. That would be fine if he tried to do something even slightly romantic with me but he shoveled down.his supper and left the table before I was even done and with out saying anything about the supper I made. Now he is sitting on the couch and didn't even have the decency to put on something we both enjoy. He's watching a show he knows I hate. Happy valentines day to me....

Personally, I think V-day is over rated, and maybe he does too, but he is a man and has no tact.  
I'm sorry your feelings are hurt though. You should gently tell him so without getting mad. It will sink in better, that all you want and need is to have that little extra that shows how much he cares.

Have you told him how you feel?

Did HE know you were planning to celebrate tonight?

From this one post, he doesn't sound like someone who is very invested in the relationship or someone who would even care about Valentine's.

right? i bought SO a white chocolate heart for 5 bucks. he'll probably get me flowers, but i'm not expecting anything.

It's valentines day and also my birthday tomorrow and I know I'm getting nothing from my boyfriend.. He's not even a little romantic either

Yes we agreed on it last week and talked about it last night. I guess I should include that recently (like two weeks ago) I had a talk with him about how he treats me more like a friend than his girlfriend and doesn't ever do anything romantic. This has been an ongoing problem for the past two years with every holiday. The first Christmas was perfect and then after that he just hasn't done anything at all. He makes me pick out my own gifts and just gives me a maximum amount I can spend. I've talked to him about it every other holiday so I feel like it would be pointless to say anything this time.

That's the part that really bothers me. He didn't even say a word or aknowledge anything I did.
