Hcg levels and progesterone

posted 13th Feb
I know I could post this in the October thread but I get lost easy so I'm making a new one.

I need some words of encouragement.
My doc called today to tell me my hcg levels and progesterone levels.

1-28-13 hcg - 65
2-8-13 hcg - 7000
2-11-13 hcg - 12000 progesterone 12

He said it is quite normal for my hcg to start slowing down but he wants my progesterone at a 15. He scheduled me a high tech ultrasound tomorrow at 2pm and if the sac is still empty to expect a miscarriage.

On 2-8-13 my sac was measuring at 4 weeks and empty.
I have irregular periods so we don't know my due date yet but by my lmp I should of been around 6 weeks and 1 day.
He is prescribing me progesterone supplements if there is something in there.

Is it still possible that there will be a baby. I just need some words of encouragement and see if other ladies have or are going through the same thing.

I have no story to share. But I am sorry you're having to go through this. Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way.

My understanding is that before 5 weeks it's very rare to find something in the sac.... My doctor with DS refused to let me get one before 6 weeks because they're only allowed to refer for two subsidized ultrasounds without medical reasoning during pregnancy here and he didn't want to waste someone's time and resources.

It's possible, yes. If you had an u/s at 4 weeks, it would be too early to see anything anyway. Hopefully the supplements help.

Quoting Bettinas:" My understanding is that before 5 weeks it's very rare to find something in the sac.... My doctor with ... [snip!] ... ultrasounds without medical reasoning during pregnancy here and he didn't want to waste someone's time and resources. "

The reason my doc is did my first one was because of my previous miscarriage. This time it's because he wants to be on the safe side because of my progesterone level. He wants it at a 15. He does his ultrasounds himself but because of this he is sending me to this high tech one.
