HELP!!!

Im 35 weeks pregnant and my plug is starting to come out. does this mean ill be going into labor soon?? my doctor told me that since I'm having contractions and my vagina hurts all the time, that I can deliver now if i need to. the only problem is the baby is sunny side up which is going to make it harder for me to deliver natural and with out any meds.. Should i be scared about labor and delivery? my doctor told me he doesnt think she will flip since im already to far along and she doesn't have room to!! Im nervous about this because with my first pregnancy everything went so smooth and in two pushes and 45 minutes later my daughter was out. what if something bad happends to me or even my baby!!! =/

Your plug can regenerate and baby can flip at ANY time.

Sorry, but your doctor sounds like an idiot.

Your plug can come out at ANY time during pregnancy and it means nothing, it regenerates.
And the baby could flip at any time, she could flip IN labor.

It depends. Sometimes it just regenerates.

But it's not really ideal I deliver now obviously. And being sunny side up disnt make you need pain meds. It's a diff type of labor typically. Usually it's more in your back. But mine wasn't. It can be harder to push baby out cause their head doesn't mold as well. I needed an episiotomy with my sunny side up baby because I was just not stretching anymore and her head was not molding anymore. So after an hour of pushing my dr just had to do it. I couldn't push anymore I was getting exhausted.

I lost my plug at 27 weeks, which was the kick-off to a lot of preterm issues, BUT I amstill pregnant at 32 weeks and often loss of plug means literally nothing. It can regrow, you can lose it slowly over time, etc. I'd pay more attention to the contractions and pressure. Although with a second baby you're bound to notice contractions and pressure more than you had last time anyways, so it could still be nothing too.

I delivered DD sunny side up. I won't lie to you, it sucked. I spent an hour and a half pushing because she had a bad case of "tires in a rut" where I kept losing all progress between contractions. Lot of back labor, not pleasant. But totally doable. There's no guarantees you won't have an awful labor with a better positioned baby, or a relatively easy sunny side up delivery.

Long answer short, youlll be fine! Try not to worry either way. I would try to keep LO in there a little longer if you can. I'm on bed rest and it's helped a ton. Maybe try to reduce activity a bit if you feel labor is imminent.

I had all back labor with my first pregnancy. ive been havin contractions every day all day long weather im working, or sitting at home watching tv. theres more and more pressure each time i have one and there starting to hurt a little and they take my breath away. the nurses and doctors ive talked to keep telling me there nothing and i shouldnt worry. im getting so sick of hearing that because what if something is wrong. i dont plan to deliver at the hospital here in elkhart any ways i plan to drive an hour away to deliver where i delivered my daughter becuase the doctors there know what their doing.

Good call, they should be taking you more seriously. I had the same issue (only eight weeks earlier) where I was telling them I had lost my mucus plug and had been contracting constantly, I was repeatedly told it was nothing until an ultrasound revealed half my cervical length had effaced away. Have you had your cervix checked recently? At 35 weeks your baby shouldn't have too too much trouble if you do deliver, but it's still not ideal. At the very least they should be looking further into it in order to prepare you and the hospital staff for a premature delivery. Again, not to worry you at all, it sounds like your situation will be totally fine, I just think your doctor isn't giving you the standard of care he should.

I know i went into the hospital last night because i was cramping so bad and my stomach felt like it was bruised all over and i hadn't felt the baby kick all day or night and the nurse just hooked me up to a monitor and heard the heart beat and sent me home. I didn't even get to see a doctor and i didn't get checked or anything. My mom and hubby were beyond PISSED!!!
