Is it awkward if one person in a relationship (let's say one that's NOT brand new) gives a gift to the other on valentine's day, but doesn't receive one from that person?

Do you think it makes a difference by gender?
Hm, like- less awkward if the guy gives but doesn't get?
More awkward if the girl gives but doesn't get?

I think it's pretty awkward either way. No matter the gender.

It's never awkward in our relationship.

I don't think it matters.. especially is the other person is not a gift giver. Meh.

don't think it's awkward in a non-new relationship. But super awkward no matter who does it if they just started dating. Like, I got you a dozen roses and a diamond promise ring even though we just met yesterday awkward.

haha that's how my 'n dude's relationship started. except there was no holiday. i was constantly feeling awkward.

see, i feel like- it might be less awkward if dude gets girl flowers, and she doesn't get him anything, than if like- girl gets dude a watch (or something), and dude doesn't give her anything.

If I got him something and he didn't get me something I'd be annoyed. If he got me something and I didn't have anything for him itd be awkward but that's when you pull out the back massage into blow job card.   Because honestly that's what most guys really want anyways.

I think it depends on the relationship. Im getting a vday gift but DH is not. On the other hand he got an xmas gift and I did not.

No cause I like to give gifts just to give them  

But it's my birthday so I wouldn't get him anything and he BETTER get me something

DH never gets anything on Valentine's day. He gets dinner and that's that pretty much.
He gets something on "sweetest day". but he strictly thinks Valentine's is for girls to get things.
