It's not awkward for u s- we've done lots of vdays & we do whatever. this year it won't be much other than some homemade valentines & such. I doubt I will get anything - but you never know. he once went THREE years without getting me any gifts & then spent about $2,500 on ONE birthday - that is totally his style - slack like crazy & then overdo it to try make up. I got pissed at that one & now he doesn't do it so bad. It's more about EFFORT than price tag to me so he can at least make SOME effort a few times a year versus very little effort for ages with a big bang every few years. That doesn't feel good to me either IMO.

I'd say more sad than awkward... more so if the woman gives but doesn't recieve.. in MOST cases men don't care as much.

but.. that was my marriage. 10 years... he got me a present once.. because I told him I was pissed.. and expected something at least from my kids and him... I took my kids out to get him something..

I'd be mad if he bought me anything coz the money is better off elsewhere.

My guy gave surprised me with a yummy breakfast and flowers, I felt bad that I had nothing to actually like... Hand to him. But I did buy lingerie and a sex toy that I plan to surprise him with later so I think he will be okay

I'm all late but no. I wouldn't say it'd be awkward, I'd be kind of hurt if I gave DH something and he had completely forgotten about me. Like damn dude, not even a freaking $1.00 card? Lol
