meds for depression

What is the best meds you have taken for your depression? I feel like my depression has gone from manic back to a normalish place where it is easier to handle. My doctor is really amazing about me looking at diff meds and suggesting them and us deciding what is best.

I've only ever taken Zoloft. Started at 50mg currently taking 100mg. The higher dosage seems to be working wonderfully.

Prozac and a few others I tried were awful for me, Effexor worked decently. Or, at least didn't make me hyperventilate and have panic attacks like crazy.

Zoloft is actually the first one I was thinking of and I have actually never heard of Effexor.

Since you're TTC I would try Zoloft. DH was on Effexor for a year, his doctor slowly weaned him off it but he had a hard time coming off it because he become addiction to it.. My mom had the same problem with Effexor; if you google you'll see a lot of people have the addiction problem with Effexor.

Yeah. I am planning on researching any depression med I can think of just to see if the benefits outweigh the risks. I feel like I just need a little boost just to get out of my funk you know?

I took zoloft and it worked just fine exept it killed my sex drive. DH was on Zoloft but it killed his sex drive too so he was switched to Effexor and at the end he stopped taking it all together with no problems it actually work but he took it for anxiety.

I totally understand! I have severe anxiety and I was just switched to BuSpar from xanax.

I live by Lexapro! I love it!!
