making this work **possible trigger**

posted 13th Feb
I struggled with anorexia from 13 until I was 17. Its still a daily battle but I have been doing really well. I love to exercise. I do it every day. But it is one of my triggers. If I stop exercising I notice I get really depressed. But if I do exercise im triggering myself. How can I make my exercise work?

exercise with your kids? I haven't dealt with anorexia - but that is what i do & if you involve your kids, you love them enough to not overdo it for them I would assume....?

that is a smurfed up thing to say...

anorexia is a disease/addiction and it has absolutely nothing to do with the love you have for anyone.

OP: do you still talk to a therapist nutritionist or ED specialist? im sure they could better help you arrange a healhty plan of exercising.

OP doesn't need your ignorance.

Well I am sorry if it is smurfed up to say that - that is why I prefaced it saying I have not dealt with it. I was thinking of a way to motivate yourself to set limits that were healthy - not as a way of acting as if "if you love your kids enough". LOTS of people with addiction use the love of their kids for motivation. They do. It is how I quit smoking. I use feeding my kids as my motivation for why Dh & I eat healthy. We used to have terrible eating habits & often want to revert to that, but making meals for all of us keeps me on track. It wasn't meant to be insensitive.

Limit your exercise time. Only allow yourself 30 minutes or so everyday. If you make it all you think about it will only trigger you more. Maybe even not exercising every single day is good too. You know what triggers you and when to say when.

keep it in healthy moderation or do exercise that is different from what you used normally its normal to miss the horomone high of exercise and you should never have to stop just change and keep it in moderation run it by a dr. hey whats a healthy amount of exercise for me and make a schedule to control it strictly so you can know if its triggering you and have someone help watch it with you to make sure your not abusing it
