I mentioned before in a thread similar to this that I think it's funny how people are so out of touch with what they're eating, lol. All of the hard work is done for them so they never have to deal with the ugly stuff. Like people can saw omg ewww a head that's gross! But they forget that if they aren't vegetarian, the majority of stuff they eat had a head at one point.

I am well aware of that...but I don't put their head on a platter and eat it.

There is almost no part of the pig I have not eaten.

Pig ears, pig feet, chitterlings, hog maws, you name it.

Only thing we do NOT eat is the nose and the brain and eyes.

Plain raw right out of the water sea bass for a bet. That smurf was nasty. I even fillet it myself. YUCK. Never again.

what are maws? Can you get chitlins already cleaned? No way I could do that.

maws are the stomach. We eat it on sandwiches or put it in the greens with a little bit of fat to flavor it up. (As a family that owns a chain of soul food restaurants, our gatherings and dinners are about as southern as you get lol.)

You can buy them cleaned but I dont trust those. I clean the chitterlings myself, we are taught from childhood how to do it properly. And they really dont stink that bad unless you didnt clean them well. I think they are delicious, but that may be because thats what I was fed growing up.

Marrow soup. One of the most unusual, and one of the best too. I really can't wait to get it again.

Grossest thing was definitely scorpion lollipop. I have a serious phobia of live scorpions, just the thought of them makes me sick and nervous, but when they're dead and encased in sugar, not so bad. I just ate around the scorpion part, then swallowed the bit with the scorpion like a really big pill.
