School help

Gah! My professor gave me a B on my exam paper. It was about a poem and I had to dissect the poem and write an analysis on it. I did... she said I added too much information and not enough analysis. What? I guess it's just a difference of opinion. I think the more info the better you know something, I'm so confused. She said I could revise it and resubmit it. Should I? I am not quite sure how to change it, I thought it was really good.

It brought my grade in the class to a 90% which is still an A

I would totally revise it to try and get the better grade...

If you want I could help you out? I had to write a million of these things in English Lit, when I was considering majoring in it in university. I never did, since, you know...Getting married, 5 kids later, I just never had the time.

But I still remember a lot about it, so if you want a hand I'd be happy to help!

If you are really unsure as to what to change, ask your professor. She should be able to basically outline what she's looking for. Also, this would be an excellent teaching moment for her, as you are misunderstanding what she is looking for in your paper, thus she should be able to explain it. Don't be afraid to go to your professor's office to ask for more help. My professors were always quite happy to explain thing a 2nd, 3rd and even 4th time if I needed it. Teachers live for the "ah hah" moment, it is such a wonderful thing to see. I am studying to be a teacher myself, and I've been tutoring in math and got to experience someone coming to understand a concept in front of my eyes. It is such an emotional high and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm sure your professor would be very happy to help you get there.
