Even with non-expired seats, I wouldn't want to buy one. You never know if it has been in an accident or not KWIM?

It's just sad that some people are uneducated about carseat safety & don't know that they expire or you need to replace them if they were in a collision.

I think it is more sad that people can sell an expired car seats and/or car seats that were in an accident without guilt   it makes no sense to me at all

Yes, exactly! Or they are uneducated as well & don't know any better. These are things the hospital should teach before the parents leave with the baby.

I know at my hospital you are supposed to watch a video on car seat safety but nobody makes sure you watch it.
I admit I didn't know, but as soon as I did I straightened up real quick! It makes me sad when someone does something wrong, I try to help and they get pissed and then keep doing it. I am not trying to be rude or mean I am just trying to help them learn.

I didn't know at first either. I found out a lot when I was pregnant thanks to BG. & Anytime I try to educate friends (in a non pushy way) they still get offended & pissed off. I'd be devastated to see one of their babies killed because of something that could have been prevented.

A lot of people ( including myself at one time) don't know that you're supposed to take their winter jacket off of the child before strapping them in. I've seen so many on my newsfeed with the huge winter jackets :/ I tried telling a friend about it & she said it was stupid & that everything is so complicated these days & that she wasn't doing that because their car was cold. I explained you could put it over their arms after strapping them in but she said LO would hate it. I tried though :/ I hope she takes it into consideration & takes the time to do it. It's a huge pain in the ass but I'd rather keep LO safe.

Seriously sad   it's hella cold here and I put dd in a light sweater we've been calling her coat and then packing her with blankets after she's buckled and then I put her seat cover on her seat and out we go. I get weird looks from people but whatever. And dd1 always takes her coat off when she gets in the car.

Exactly. DH even thinks it is stupid! It irritates the crap out of me that I can't even trust my own husband to strap my kids in the car

Here they check the babies and seats before we can leave the hospital. I have been known to leave my kids jackets on in the vehicle if were just going down the block or something but usually longer trips they take them off anyways cause they get hot. Its gets to be like -45c here sometimes, But luckily i park in a garage and dont even have to go outside to get the kids in the car.

I bought Charlee a fleece coat that doesn't affect the harness straps (I do not have to loosen them) It gets freaking COLD here too but we only ever go into walmart and to the car so her fleece is plenty warm. If it isn't I do have blankets for them to put on too
