My water broke early with DD but DH better have a camera ready if it happens with baby #2 because I want a picture of it. It would be so cool.

I know there's at least one woman on here who's had a birth like that. Can't for the life of me remember her name though...

I've never had that happen to me...It looks really cool though!

All I can say is that DH better have a camera ready if I ever give birth again. If that ever happens, I so want to have pictures of it.

I know someone who did this with a home delivery. I think I probably could have with both kids but they broke my water at crowning both times & since it only took a few pushes for them to be out, I am sure it is possible.. I don't think you'd be "allowed" to get through pushing in our local hospital without it since they seem to just break it at that point if it hasn't on it's own.

You can refuse it. They we're going to break my water at my last birth because it hadn't broken yet when I was getting close to pushing, they didn't ask, they jut got th stuff out and said "ok I'm going to break your water now". I said "oh no thank you".

I am sure you can - however both my labors were in the neighborhood of 70+ hrs, I was nearly delirious, on no pain meds & no sleep, etc - so it wasn't anything I was even thinking clear enough to care about I just wanted it over. On my list of things I want done a certain way, that one isn't near the top. I was just happy to have two vaginal deliveries. LOL

Of course. Its not a big deal in the grand sheme of things. I just wasn't sure if you knew you could refuse it because you had said your local hospital doesn't "allow" you to deliver without having your water broken.
I couldn't imagine 70+ hours of labor, my first was 42 hours of active labor and actually they broke my water at the end as well and I was so exhausted and in pain that I could not have cared less. I just wanted him out and ok.

I refused a lot of stuff - but I think they could have offered a lobotomy at pushing & I'd have said yes. LOL My Ob said I was the only woman who was snoring during pushing without any meds he ever met & he's been doing this for 27 yrs (at the time I birthed my older one) LOL. I guess I was snoring for like 90 seconds at a time & waking up screaming & pushing & going back to snoring. LOL I DID manage to have my head together enough on #2 to say NO episiotomies. They cut me 3 times with my 1st & I still tore through my rectum. :/ I had only 3 stitches with #2 (might have been 2 - no more than 3 though). I think my cuts with #1 made it worse. #2 was a bigger baby & all I got was a skid.

Oh wow! That sounds terrible. I haven't torn at all with either of my babies so far, I refused the episiotomy with both. I did need to have help from the vacuum with my first because I had pushed for 3 1/2, almost 4 hours and I was exhausted. But I definitely want to be cut. I was so afraid of tearing or being cut.

OMG. I can't fathom pushing that long. The ONE way I seem to luck out is fast pushing. 18 mins with #1 & like 8 mins with #2...and that might be longer than it was. I just know that I went home with #2, a lo t- and when I came back the last time he was crowning - and it was 11 mins from the time I got into the room & the baby was out. I am not sure when I started to push - as soon as the Dr got in the room. Labor might go really slow for me - but at least pushing seems to be okay thank goodness.

My first time pushing was really bad but I only pushed 18 minutes total with number two. My labor was only 11 hours from start to delivery. Round two was muh smoother than round one. Lol

Did you have big babies? Mine were 8lbs 1oz 21 inches, and 9lb even 20 1/2 inches respectively.

Nope - small babies but they had big heads & still do. Around 38cm & only 6lb 3oz with #1 & 6lb 9oz with #2. They were 37 weekers. At 5 my olde rone has the same size head as the average adult man despite being average sized. LOL And #2 is about to turn 3 & wears a size 9 helmet. Egg heads. :/
