Nap time tummy sleeper. I'm so paranoid!!!!!!!

posted 13th Feb
DD is 2 months old. We recently discovered she'll only sleep through nap time on her belly. We've tried everything to put her down on her own for naps (her swing which she sleeps in at night, her bouncy chair, her crib on her back in the swaddle) nothing works at nap time unless she's in your arms. I can't hold her for 2+ hours while she naps anymore. Yesterday we put her down on her belly and she slept the usual 2+ hours that she would have in my arms. I'm so friggin paranoid though!!! She's in her crib right now and I can't relax without checking on her every 2 minutes :/ anyone else have a belly sleeper this young? I refuse to let her sleep like that at night, I would NEVER sleep lol. She turns her head fine & has a pretty strong neck, the day she was born she could lift it off my chest. Eeeeeeeek I'm so worried lol

I'd think she'd be ok if she can lift and move her head fine on her own.

Can you keep her close to you while you nap? Like in a playpen or bassinet? I know (and this probably sounds super ghetto, especially since I literally had every baby product out there, lol) but I used to put my 2nd in a laundry basket while he napped b/c it was the easiest thing to move room to room with me (while I was chasing around my toddler) He was a stomach sleeper too, so it helped ease my paranoia.

My son has slept on his belly from day one and hes five months old now. Everytime I tried to lay him on his back, hed wake up screaming. Hes taking to laying on his back better though now that hes older but still prefers his belly.

LOL That's actually not a bad idea!! I'm gonna have to give that a try later

That's about when my son started sleeping on his tummy. Maybe a little closer to 3 months. There wasn't anything I could do to stop it. I felt better about it after several days.

DD slept on her belly from day 1. It was the only way she would sleep. She is now 3 years old and still is a tummy sleeper.

2 of my 3 children were/are belly sleepers. I started around a month old with my second son and he started sleeping much better then. My daughter was about 3 weeks old when I started letting her tummy sleep. If I have another that doesn't sleep well I will likely try even earlier to see if it helps.

Just let her sleep like that. She can lift her head, she will be okay. It's natural for infants to sleep on their belly.

My baby girl is 3 months on the 27th. I find that she sleeps longer during nap time on her belly. I check on her every so often. And I hear her breathing in the baby monitor. But she sleeps on her back at night. Sometimes 9 hours.
