If you already quit, dude, just dont do it. You should be proud of yourself. Maybe start chewing gum or something to occupy your mouth

I know the feeling...however for both of my pregnancies I quit cold turkey...I couldn't stand the thought of possibly harming them. Then I started smoking again after having each child (like a month or so later)...dumb, I know lol

Just don't do it. You have a choice. I know that the cravings are strong and you feel like you need one, but you don't. It's sooooo bad for you. If you smoke again it will not be because you couldn't help it. It will be because you CHOSE to. If you dont want to, CHOOSE not to. Get some lolli pops, gum, whatever, just do something else. You dont need to smoke.

I started again after both kids, as well. Whoops

I cut back after I found out I was pregnant with my son because my friend almost lost her son due to smoking, I fully quit at 6 months because it was affecting my son to were he wouldn't grow and it was also starting to make me sick. I gave birth to him at 39 weeks and he still ended up in the NICU for a week due to breathing issues. I get very bad anxiety attacks so i'll have a smoke when my anxiety starts building up to calm me down, but other then that. no matter what it takes I will never again smoke during a pregnancy or around my kids.

Quoting Loka Lokita (1 :" I swear to God I am losing my smurfing sanity. I quit over 2 months ago and feel like the only thing that ... [snip!] ... want to start again...I just want one. But what is some info on it? I'd like to be talked out of smoking but I don't know."
Remember, its never just one....you can do it! Just find something to distract your hands....and maybe chew some gum and refocus yourself on something else.

You can do it!!
I didn't quit with DD1 and I still regret it. I thank God she wasn't born with any health issues, however she has battled bronchitis several times & has had pneumonia in her left lung. I blame smoking. It was extremely selfish of me to not give it up. I quit with DD2. Started up again a few weeks ago :/ not one if my best decisions since I had been smokeless for 9+ months. Just think of your baby. I can remember with DD1 everytime I lit up she would roll around in my belly, probably struggling for clean air not a good feeling.

If you already quit then dont do it. I quit 2 out of 3 pregnancies. lol My middle dd I just couldnt do it. I was in a stressed time in my life and well just couldnt.
I will be honest and say that the 2 kids I had where I never smoked in my pregnancies both have had a long list of medical issues since birth. My dd that I smoked a pack a day with, has had not one medical issue in the past 4.5 yrs. lol
I am not saying its due to me smoking, I just find it really odd that everything they said would happen to her cause I smoked happen to my other kids when I didnt smoke.

i was a smoker and quit cold turkey the day i found out i was pregnant. I just got it in my head that the health of my baby is WAYY more important than my wants. I still crave them alll the time and i hope i dont start again when she is here.

THAT caught me totally off guard lol...
I quit 4-5 weeks before finding out, like the first week of pregnancy even though I thought I was just sick, I couldn't smoke more than a half without barfing my brains out. Or getting so sick to where if I sat up my insides felt like mush. I found out later I had hyperemisis. And smoking just made it worse I guess. But I still think about smoking. Try tootsie pops or something, I did lolli's to keep my mouth and hands occupied (Always laugh at the dirty aspect of saying that) anyways don't do it. Will I smoke after I'm done being pregnant? Maybe I haven't decided. It's tempting. But don't do it, it really can hurt baby
!

Try to remember just what it was like when you were smoking, it was harder to breath, you didn't have as much energy, perhaps you coughed crap up. Also remember how nasty it was when you quit. The hacking up of all the crud in your lungs that probably took weeks to get rid of, withdrawals, and everything that goes with it. Do you really want to experience all of that again? I wouldn't, it's nasty. Remember, quitting is not just for your baby, it's for you. Your health, your quality of life. We have to remember that yes, it's good for baby to quit, but first and foremost, we must quit for ourselves. If you quit simply because of your baby, it is easier to go back to it after baby is born, if you quit for yourself, it is easier to deny those cravings afterwards. Your health is just as important as your babies. You want to be around to see your child grow up, you don't want to be a slave to your addiction, you want to have more money, you want to be free. Remember these things, remind yourself of all the positives you are experiencing now that you have freed yourself from nicotine.
I know you can do it, it will get easier as time goes by, and eventually, you won't think of smoking anymore.

Yes thank you. I had a weak moment earlier. Went for a drive and the craving passed. I'm glad I didn't give in.
