They were not in his reach....he took a chair and got them. I didn't start yelling at him until after the 5th time I asked him where they were. All he was saying, since the FIRST time I asked was I don't want to tell you because you will be mad. I told him I won't be mad if you just tell me where they are.

Oh geez, you're dense, you're being harsh by saying he's a murderer.

Getting a chair and being able to reach = in his reach

Which was a complete lie. You are obviously mad about where he put them and what did to them. He was afraid to tell you.
I'm sure he wasn't trying to kill them, he was just curious about how there were baby turtles inside.
Did you tell him their were babies inside or did you tell him there WOULD BE babies inside after a while that would come out one day, if we left them alone and didn't touch them?

You're ludicrous. Wtf would you have done if he had a hamster and cuddled it too hard and killed it? Arrested him and charged him with 1st degree murder? I mean yeah he COULD have MAYBE killed something. Just explain to him that just like human mommies the turtles have to wait for their babies and you need to be careful then watch your kid better. I mean come on wtf trusts a kid up alone at that age?

Do you eggs? if so how dare you be a murderer. I feel you are being to harsh. He is 5 years old. I understand talking to him and letting him know why it was wrong but grounding a child all day seems a little crazy!

I don't think you are being harsh. He didn't listen and he killed the turtles by crushing their eggs.

If that happened in my house, then all little pets like that would be given to a new home.

That is just ridiculous. Kids understand a lot more than people give them credit for. I know that when I was 5 or 6 I understood death. I remember my mom took me to my great- grandpa's funeral and explained that Great Grandpa had gotten very sick and was hurting so god brought him up to heaven so he wouldn't be in pain any more. That Great grandpa wouldn't be here on earth any more but that he could still see us and love us in heaven, and that one day a long, long time down the road we would all be in heaven and get to see him again.

Yeah but it doesn't make a kid a murder.
