Do you have potty trained kids? Do you immediately pull over and have them pee on the side of the road as soon as they say they have to go without even trying to find a bathroom? What about when you or your husband has to go? Do you immediately pull over and drop your pants on the side of the road for all to see so you can avoid a uti?

Probably not.

I should have quoted because i said it "doesnt matter" to her saying he doesnt yell at her. OP said her daughter is forced to hold it even in an emergency, which imo is wrong.

How is it nonsense. It's not abuse to have to hold it until the closest restroom, which is what you said. That it was borderline abusive to have to hold her pee in at all. Which is why I asked you how you handle those situations. Do you immediately pull over as soon as someone says they have to go so they can do it on the side of the road?? Probably not. You probably hold it in until the closest restroom. Right? Just like op.

It's nonsense because I never said that holding your pee until the next restroom is abusive nor did I say that holding your pee in once is going to give you an infection. Holding your pee in often and when it is an emergency can cause infections. He is forcing his daughter to hold in her pee in an emergency and OP made it sound like this happens often.

Again, do you have potty trained children? I have learned with my children that every time they have to go it's "an emergency" by the time the say something. I cannot stop on the side of the road every time.
Are you in the car with them? She's 7 I'm sure she can hold it a few minutes. I'm sure they get her to the bathroom as soon as they can after she says she has to go. just like you will when your kids are using the toilet.
I doubt they spend enough time in the car making her hold It until the next restroom to cause an infection. You have to be holding it in on a regular basis for it to cause infection unless there is already a preexisting condition that makes them more prone to them. In which case I'm sure op and her husband would know about it and have made a special protocol to deal with those and this thread wouldn't even exist.
And you did say it was borderline abusive.
