Is it finally happening or is it just wishful thinking?

Yesterday I went for a very long walk to get out of the house and try and start labour.
Left at 11:30am and got back at 2pm.
Well basically an hour after I settled for a nap I started getting belly and back pain, not extremely bad, but enough to make me really uncomfortable and grumpy.
They continued all night, not getting much worse, only a little bit more painful.
By 3am this morning I still hadn't fallen asleep because my back is hurting constantly, theres no space between the pains, but there is space between the belly pains, I just don't know how to time contractions or anything
Its now almost 4pm, I've just been in bed all day because everything is just hurting. I'm still having period like cramps, but my back is killing me.
Some other symptoms I've had is a really tight and hard belly, vomiting, loose bowel movements last night (like 3 during one night), getting shaky and fidgetty, nesting, my breasts leaked all night and all of today, clear discharge for the past couple of days, and a migraine since 5am.
Also my baby girl has been kicking up an absoloute storm when she is usually calm and still for most of the day.
A friend told me to go to the hospital to get checked, should I?

I'd try timing the belly tightenings.

I would get checked. Sounds like it could be real labor.

How do I time them?
Is it from when one starts till the next one starts?
Or when one finishes till the next one starts?

Call the midwife, they wil tell you whether or not to come in and can give you some tips on timing contractions.

I time from the moment I feel tightening or pressure down low until it stops for every contraction. I usually do that to get its length then do it for the following contraction to get the interval between contractions.

You would time how long each contraction lasts and then you would time how long between each contraction. Have you called the hospital? If you're unsure you can always ring them or otherwise just head in.

I would start timing (time how long they last, then time from the time one ends to the time the next one starts)
Good Luck.

I would go in to get checked that clear discharge you have been having for the last couple of days could be a slow leek of amnotic fluid

The back pain is constant, but I get a belly pain (period cramp) every 5 minutes. I'm confused though, because they do hurt, but not the huge amount of pain that I am expecting.
It really is just in the same pain factor like a bad period :/
Is that normal?
